Common Android Problems and How to Fix Them
Android powers billions of devices worldwide, and while it is a great operating system, problems can occur. Based on the most common complaints from Android forums and Reddit communities, here is how to fix frequent issues.
Phone Overheating While Charging
If your Android phone gets hot while charging, use the charger that came with your phone or a quality certified alternative. Remove the phone case while charging. Avoid using your phone while it is charging, especially for gaming or video. If overheating continues, the battery may need replacement.
Notifications Not Showing
Go to Settings > Apps and select the app that is not notifying you. Check that notifications are enabled. On Samsung phones, make sure the app is not in Deep Sleeping Apps under Device Care. On Android, check that Do Not Disturb is not blocking the app. Battery optimization settings can also delay notifications.
Google Play Store Errors
If the Play Store will not download apps, clear the Play Store cache from Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Cache. If that does not work, clear data as well. Make sure you have enough free storage space. Check that your internet connection is working properly.
Storage Full Messages
When Android says storage is full, start by clearing app caches in Settings > Storage. Use the Files by Google app to find and delete unused files. Move photos and videos to cloud storage like Google Photos. Uninstall apps you do not use. A 5 minute cleanup can often free up several gigabytes.
