1. Master Keyboard Shortcuts

Learn the essential shortcuts for your editor. The most useful ones are cut (C), razor/blade (B), selection (V), trim start (Q), trim end (W), and ripple delete (Shift+Delete). Customize shortcuts for actions you use frequently.

2. Use Proxy Editing for 4K Footage

Proxy editing creates lower-resolution copies of your footage for smooth playback. Edit with proxies, then switch back to original files for export. DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro both support auto-proxy generation.

3. Organize Your Bins Before Editing
